McCoy Packaging Line Vacuum Monorail

A pick and place, vacuum operated handling device which is manually operated by pendant control.  It uses electric gear motors for the travel and rotating functions, and uses hydraulics for the lifting and side shift motions. Two vacuum plates are suspended from an offset positioning plate.

The positioning plate rotates on a Dodge Thrust Bearing.  The positioning plate is offset from the center line of the rotation to allow placement on each side of the skid. A side shift is also included to fine tune the positioning.

The vacuum plates are suspended on die springs which give the vacuum plate flexibility to conform to the irregular shape of the blocks.  Proximity switches sense the pressure on the plate during the pick up and placement of the stones.

The vacuum is interlocked with these proximity switches which only allows the vacuum to be turned off after the springs are compressed which signals that the block has been placed.

The complete control panel including pendant and PLC control are included. The vacuum is created using pneumatically operated vacuum generators.  A vacuum switch signals that the vacuum plate has a firm grip on the product.
