Hot RocksTM Aggregate Heating Systems

Kraft EnergyTM aggregate heating systems - tailored to suit individual demands - are suitable for various types of aggregate storage: rectangular, in-line, and radial bins and drag "open pit" storage.

The use of hot air keeps materials completely dry, and provides ideal conditions for moisture measurement to aid in precise concrete batching. The water to cement ratio may thus be controlled at an optimal level. And because the gravel and sand are dry, corrosion in the outlet part of a silo will be prevented.

The system operates by distributing hot air into the bin via special nozzles through which the hot air is forced into the material. The material in the lowest portion of the bin is hottest. As the hot air rises through the materials, the heat is transferred to the material which is heated and dried. The air that exits from the top of the bin is cold - allowing for a high degree of heat transfer efficiency.
